Cardholders of KBC, Centea, CBC can now use their Maestro debit card to buy on internet. Amsterdam – 29th of September 2009 – MasterCard Europe has partnered with EMS card to make the payment by Belgium Maestro card possible online. Following the United Kingdom, Spain and Austria, now also Belgium cardholders are able to purchase goods and services online with their Maestro card. Thanks to Maestro, online shops can welcome two millions of potential customers with a debit card of KBC-, Centea- or CBC. Later this year, other Belgium banks will follow and enrol their cards for online Maestro usage.

Maestro is cost effective
Compared to other cards, the costs of Maestro payments online are lower and thereby attractive for EMS card online shops.

Accepting Maestro is easy!
EMS card and its partners Ogone and docdata payments are technically ready to process Maestro transactions. In order to accept Maestro, this payment method only needs to be activated in merchant’s payment module.
